18 January Kitchen Medicine workshop, Ashwellthorpe

Learn how to use grocery store ingredients to treat common ailments and prevent illness. We will look at winter health, and remedies for colds and other viruses. We will show you how three kitchen spices make a wonderful remedy for hay fever and snuffly colds, and we will make the famous thieve's vinegar. You'll learn what kitchen spice is fantastic for stopping bleeding and make remedies to take home with you. 19 April, Herb Walk, Norfolk

An afternoon herb walk in Norfolk with Julie and Matthew to identify spring plants that can be foraged for food and medicine. These will probably include sweet violet, dog violet, nipplewort, jack by the hedge, bittercress, lesser celandine, nettle, Judas tree, ornamental currant, hawthorn leaves and lime leaves. Price includes refreshments at the end of the walk. Exact location to be revealed nearer the time. 2 to 4pm

28 April to 2 May, 5-day Hedgerow Medicine Course, Ashwellthorpe

An opportunity to receive hands-on tuition in making a wide range of herbal medicines, including: tinctures, glycerites, poultices, oils, ointments, flower essences, distillates, oxymels and electuaries. We will also cover basic botany, how to create herbal formulae and look at ways to evaluate constitutions and restore balance in the body. The longer format allows us to dive deeper into the herbs and their uses, while also providing a great opportunity for us and the group to get to know each other. Expect excellent vegan food and to take away lots of medicines you have made yourself.
